| Victorian Interschool Gymnastics,
Sport Aerboics & Cheerleading Competition 2005
The Victorian Interschool Gymnastics, Sport Aerobics & Cheerleading
competition took place last week from 31st Aug – 2nd Sept
and proved to be one of our most successful seasons.
Gymnastics
In preparation for this event, current, new and retired gymnasts
trained hard during Term 3 under the guidance of Team Manager,
Leida O’Flynn assisted by Year 12 students Hui Nee Chin
- School Gymnastics Captain & Tamara Gleave & Natasha
Dettman - Co Vice Captains. MLC had 35 gymnastics competitors
ranging from Yr 6 to Yr 12. A total of nine teams competed across
six different divisions and six of these teams placed in the Top
3. MLC dominated and won Level 4 senior division and the Level
5/6 division and also had outstanding individual results.
One of the highlights of the 3-day event was Vice Captain, Tamara
Gleave hitting her Beam routine on Friday morning. After retiring
from the Sport last year and taking up coaching, the Geelong student

for the competition. The MLC team, made up of 20 students from
Yr 6 – Yr 11 entered 2 divisions “Poms, Drills &
Dance” placing 1st and the “Cheer, Stunts & Tumbling”
placing 2nd. This has set them up well for the National Championships
