| An Interhouse
Gymnastics competition is part of the House program within the
College for MLC students. It is part of the Sport and Physical
Education program and is usually held at the end Term 3 as a preparation
for Interschool Gymnastics. Each year, students from Prep to 12
participate in a friendly competition to win points towards their
House. The Interhouse Program is managed by Leida O’Flynn,
Events Manager
In 2008 the competition is being held on Wednesday
27 August in the Gymnastics Hall & PEC Sports Hall. The competition
is held during the school day and many MLC students and parents
come along to watch. The students are provided with a House coloured
Leotard to wear for the day and are awarded points for participation,
cheering, assisting to set up on the day and competition results.
Training is held at lunchtimes during Term 3
under the guidance of the House Gymnastics Captains. Senior Gymnastics
staff supervise the training program, but the Captains are responsible
for teaching the younger students their routines. Information
is distributed through college newsletters and student dailies. |
