Georgia Wheeler competed in the All Around and Apparatus finals today in the dual meet Australia vs Japan. She hit three of four apparatus, with a fall on her double arabian on floor and finished in 9th place All Around. Georgia once again showed her ability to consolidate her new skills in competition and was able to make corrections from day 1 of competition.
Gymnastics Australia published a media release on the Japan Friendly - Mitchell conquers on beam and floor against Japan in Canberra
JUNIOR & SENIOR INTERNATIONAL DIVISION
The event was also the National Club Championships for 2009 and Georgia finished in 3rd place All Around in Junior International. This result has consolidated Georgia's ranking in the top three Juniors in Australia, a great step for her as she moves up to Senior International in 2010. She placed 2nd on Bars, 3rd on Vault and 4th on Floor.
Amelia McGrath competed in her first Australian comeptitio as a Junior International and won the gold medal on Floor. Today she had the 2nd highest score of all the Australian Juniors and Seniors combined with a score of 13.65. Amelia also won the bronze medal on beam and placed 6th all around.

Alex Byers Armstrong was ranked 6th on both vault and floor today. Her power and expression on floor were highlights for her, along with her catching her Jaeger release on bars. Alex finished 10th all around in Junior International.
Chloe Turko competed on Beam only over both days and whilst she made errors, she demonstrated that she is on her way back from injury. She is looking forward to a strong year in 2010.
INTERNATIONAL LEVEL 10
Isobel Looker and Kristina Ostojic both competed in the International Level 10 division, competing only a few events due to injuries and readiness. Kristina's swing on bars is fantastic and Isobel's floor routine is one to watch for. Hopefully both can come out next year and show the skills and performances they are capable of.
INTERNATIONAL LEVEL 6
Emma Curry and Lidia McLean both competed in this division, with Emma consolidating her performances from Nationals, and Lidia stepping up from International Level 5 in July. Emma placed in the top 6 on Bars, with Lidia performing one of the best floor routines at this level over both days.
INTERNATIONAL LEVEL 5
MLC took three very young competitors to compete in this division, Laetitia Donato, Jasmine Slade and McKenna Linnen. The gymnasts were able to gain a great deal from their competition, and Jasmine won a bronze medal on the Bars ! Great work Jazzy !
